The Congressmen outlined their concerns in a letter to the Bar, citing specific instances where they believe Bondi may have acted improperly during her tenure.
The representatives’ call for an investigation centers on two key areas:
- Controversy Surrounding the Dropping of the Case Against Eric Adams: Reps. Min and Levin are scrutinizing Bondi’s role in the decision to drop a case involving New York City Mayor Eric Adams. They allege that this move suggests a potentially unethical, and possibly illegal, arrangement. The specific details of this case and the alleged impropriety are central to their demand for a thorough review.
- Concerns Regarding the Deportation of Venezuelan Nationals: The Congressmen are also challenging the “legally questionable positions and tactics” they say Bondi employed in a case related to the deportation of Venezuelan nationals. In their communication with the Florida Bar, Reps.
