Beattie, a former Trump speechwriter with a history of controversial statements, spearheaded the elimination of the U.S. State Department’s Counter Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (CFIMI) team, a critical unit tasked with combating foreign propaganda, particularly from Vladimir Putin’s regime.

A Web of Russian Ties
What has emerged is nothing short of staggering: Beattie is married to Yulia Kirillova, whose uncle, Sergei Chernikov, is a former Russian political insider and oligarch with a personal connection to Vladimir Putin. Chernikov was reportedly thanked by Putin himself for his role in supporting the Kremlin during the controversial 2000 election that solidified Putin’s grip on power.
This familial tie alone raises red flags. But Beattie’s behavior and rhetoric deepen the concern.
